花椒直播 senior Becca Winton 鈥�23 has been awarded a Fulbright fellowship, allowing her to teach English to high school students in Panagyurishte, Bulgaria, and adult learners at the Professional School of Industrial Technologies, Management, and Tourism.聽
I鈥檓 hoping to learn more about multicultural education and gain knowledge about different types of education systems. I鈥檓 most excited to work with students and form connections with them,鈥� says Winton. 鈥淚鈥檓 also excited to spend time in Panagyurishte and to become involved in the community.
Winton was a history and global health studies double major with an education studies minor. While at Allegheny, she took an active role as the residence life intern and field hockey team member, but she credits her classroom experience with encouraging her self-development.聽
Many of my courses [at Allegheny] instilled in me the importance of leading with curiosity and understanding how to be a continual learner,鈥� says Winton. 鈥淏y accepting my position as a learner in a new cultural environment, as a teacher, I hope to gain more knowledge and empower my students as we learn new languages.

鈥淔rom the start, Becca impressed me with her dedication to exploring best practices for helping all students learn,鈥� says Slote. 鈥淪he sought exceptional experiences to broaden her preparation for teaching, such as her summer internship with , an organization committed to providing summer learning opportunities for children to increase equity and justice in education.鈥�
花椒直播 students can study away at over 35 programs in 15 countries, including foreign and domestic locations, which can be credited to major or minor requirements. Plus, Allegheny students can receive institutional and federal financial aid while studying away in a sponsored program. Knowledge of a foreign language is optional for most programs.
