花椒直播, one of the nation鈥檚 oldest and most innovative four-year colleges where multidisciplinary learning breaks the conventional mold, announced today that the college’s Board of Trustees has added three new members: Aly Kassam-Remtulla of Princeton, New Jersey; Afua Osei of Severn, Maryland; and Sandra Wycoff of Harwich Port, Massachusetts. They began their terms on the board effective July 1, 2021.
Aly Kassam-Remtulla is associate provost for international affairs at Princeton University. As the university’s chief international officer, he oversees offices, partnerships, and policies that advance the international scope of Princeton’s teaching, research, and service mission.聽 He serves as a faculty advisor to two dozen first- and second-year undergraduates and occasionally teaches in the department of anthropology.聽 Kassam-Remtulla also serves as founding co-chair of the Faculty Advancement Network, a consortium of 12 national research universities developing creative solutions to promote diversity in the American professoriate.
Kassam-Remtulla鈥檚 previous roles at Princeton were in strategic planning, diversity and inclusion, financial management, operations, and student affairs.聽 Prior to coming to Princeton in 2010, Kassam-Remtulla was a program officer at the MacArthur Foundation where he managed the creation of two new portfolios and awarded more than $60 million in grants.聽 He chairs the board of trustees of the Mpala Research Centre, a 48,000-acre campus in Kenya for which Princeton serves as the managing partner.聽 He also serves on the boards of Princeton in Beijing and Princeton in Africa. Kassam-Remtulla graduated with honors and with distinction from Stanford University and received a M.Sc., MBA, and Ph.D. from Oxford, where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar.
Afua Osei graduated cum laude from Allegheny in 2008 with a double major in political science and Black studies. She is a partnerships strategist helping digital entrepreneurs build the skills, systems and confidence to work with the corporate clients of their dreams. As a co-founder of She Leads Africa, Osei built a digital lifestyle platform for millennial multicultural women reaching more than 800,000 women across 100-plus countries. In addition to building a thriving community, Osei secured international partnerships with brands like Facebook, Google, Unilever, Nestle, Samsung, Estee Lauder, Visa and L鈥橭real to design culturally relevant and data-driven engagement campaigns. In December 2016, the company rang the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange.
Osei has been recognized by Forbes as one of the 20 youngest power women in Africa (2014) and among the Quartz Africa 30 Innovators of 2017; she also received the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy Rising Star Award in 2020. Osei served as a strategy consultant at McKinsey & Company and graduated with an MBA and Master of Public Policy from the University of Chicago and studied international management at the London School of Economics.
Sandra Wycoff, a 1977 graduate of Allegheny who majored in drama/art, is president and owner of Chatham T Co. Inc., an apparel company she founded in 1979 in Chatham, Massachusetts. 聽The store has become a cornerstone in the downtown area.聽 Her business became the springboard for leadership in many civic and non-profit organizations.聽Wycoff has served as president of the Chatham Chamber of Commerce and the Chatham Merchants Association, while at the same time serving a 10-year term as president of the Harwich Junior Theatre, the oldest children鈥檚 theatre in the country on the straw-hat circuit.聽 She served as founding treasurer of the not-for-profit Chatham Orpheum Theatre, an art house movie theatre.聽 As treasurer, she oversaw financial requirements for state grants and public/private funding needed to buy the property and continued with fiscal management of the multimillion-dollar theatre construction project. Wycoff helped purchase private land on Chatham鈥檚 Main Street for public use and served on the town鈥檚 committee to manage the land鈥檚 development with a focus on historic significance. Currently, Wycoff is working on acquiring land for affordable housing, which she views as a challenge in one of the most exclusive towns on Cape Cod.
Wycoff has received the Build a Better Mouse Trap Award and the Abraham Penn Award for excellence in service to customers and community.聽 She is featured in the book, I Am Chatham.聽In addition to her three Chatham stores, Wycoff and her sister co-own the Woolen Mill on Chestnut Street in Meadville.
